Health Protocols We Follow
Each puppy’s health is supported through structured vaccination, deworming, and parasite screening programs built on proven veterinary principles.
Core Vaccine
- Product: Nobivac Canine 1-DAPPv (Modified Live Virus) sourced from Revival Animal Health.
- Coverage: Distemper, Adenovirus-1 & 2, Parvovirus, Parainfluenza
- Preservative: Thimerosal-free; formulated with gentamicin
- Route: Subcutaneous injection
Timing & Doses
- First dose: given at ~8 weeks before go-home (opt-out available).
- Second dose (required): 4 weeks after the first (by us or your veterinarian). We take pride in pups returning for this.
- Third dose (vet; owner discretion): we offer the third recommended dose as well, should you choose it.
Vaccine Documentation Policy
We provide accurate, veterinarian-standard documentation for every vaccine administered. These detailed health records allow your veterinarian to confidently continue your puppy’s vaccination series.
Each record specifies the vaccine manufacturer, lot number, expiration date, and date of administration, ensuring full traceability and transparency.
Puppies receive their first core vaccine (DHPP, also called a 5-way) at approximately 8 weeks old. You’ll bring this record to your veterinarian, who can then schedule the second dose 4 weeks later, and the third dose 4 weeks after that, following standard veterinary protocol.
While we recommend a consistent series for best protection, your veterinarian may adjust timing or product selection based on their preferred practice. Our documentation gives them the information they need to do so confidently.
First-Dose Opt-Out (Owner Preference)
If you prefer to begin vaccines with your own veterinarian, tell us before go-home. We’ll record your preference and inquire as to your plan.
Deworming Schedule
We use Pyrantel Pamoate initially at two and four weeks and then Fenbendazole 10% (Safe-Guard) for 3 consecutive days per round at six and eight weeks. These standard prophylactic treatments ensure your pup gets off to a great start growing. Giardia screening via microscopy is performed to verify pup is clear before go home day.
| Age (Week) | Action | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| 2 | one dose pyrantel pamoate | Dosage is always by current body weight. |
| 4 | one dose pyrantel pamoate | Monitor stool and appetite. |
| 6 | Deworm Days 1–3 w/fenbendazole | Monitor. Microscopic analysis. |
| 8 | Deworm Days 1–3 w/fenbendazole | Final in-house series before go-home. Microscopic analysis. |
Giardia Screening Before Go-Home
Each puppy is screened for Giardia via direct fecal microscopy prior to release. Any findings are addressed and documented so every puppy departs healthy.
Vaccine Storage & Power Reliability

The storage temperature of vaccines like the ones used by M.G.R. is of crucial importance to be kept stable and within the manufacturer’s storage temperature range. If not stored properly, the vaccines will lose their effectiveness. This why we went above and beyond for you by investing more into our vaccine storage protocols. Your vet can confidently count as valid the vaccines administered by M.G.R.🌡
- Dedicated, temperature-controlled vaccine refrigerator with continuous Bluetooth monitoring.
- Backed by a high-capacity power station that can run the refrigerator for up to two days during a power outage.
- Solar panel and gasoline generator on hand to recharge the power station for extended outages (cold-chain is preserved).
Schedule Your Second Dose
Contact us to coordinate your puppy’s second Nobivac dose four weeks after the first. A second dose is required.
